With the help of a piano dolly and a few ramps, we were lucky enough to be involved in moving a very rare Yamaha U5 to Sevenoaks. The main difference I could see between this and the U3 would be the middle sostenuto pedal, this allows you to hold down a chord whilst simultaneously playing other notes staccato style.
It’s always great to move pianos that we have never seen before, and we were also lucky enough to get to play the piano – it certainly didn’t disappoint!
The move itself wasn’t too challenging as we constructed a ramp to tackle the steps and with great care pushed this heavy beast up and into its new home.
